Rosemary I think this project is a great idea and perfect for all skill levels.

Well I made a start!

Without giving too much away I realized that there is a gap in my experience as a quilter and I looked at this as a personal challenge. Let me say that the blocks are not difficult, I would hate to discourage anyone from joining in because there's so much diversity from very simple to ambitious! I have made two blocks so far and I am happy with them but today I thought I would be a smarty pants and be ambitious. I well and truly landed on my backside with my block ending up in the bin. I was in the sewing room all by myself and finished up laughing my socks off. It has done me a world of good because I now have a better understanding of how first time patch workers must feel when they get stuck. and frustrated, even the most experienced of us can hit the wall at times.

Going to a quilters Spring gathering tomorrow . Helen Godden is our speaker and will share some of her work with us.

Thank you Brenda....for your encouragement!! I think challenges are good for us all at times......and one block is not tooooo daunting I hope!

I haven't started my ones yet...... we are on holiday for a couple of weeks.....so lots of things to do before I go! I might take something to hand sew while we're away! If I can get it prepared in time!!

Best Rosemary

Those look pretty Rosemary. I have been working on mine today. Nearly finished.

Are you back home now? If so, I'll speed up the finishing.

These were based on charm squares...so 5 ins.....but I think a variety of sizes works really well....up to 10/12 ins maximum..no bigger than that...but any size in-between is great! I may well add borders etc once I get home ! Rx
