The title is an understatement. I've enjoyed this book from cover to
cover. Although there are some genres of quilting that I am not drawn to, I now have an appreciation for them and an interest in learning more. The mini biographies make the quilters and their quilts seem like next-door neighbours. The diagrams, examples and directions are easy to understand and do-able. I
made two of the quilt blocks easily and a third, which is more detailed, is in the planning stages. There is a total of nine projects, but ideas and suggestions for more are also included. Photographs of other work by the quilters pulled me in and prodded me to take a serious look at perhaps trying types of quilting I've avoided in the past. The workshops are by the following quilters:
Lynette Anderson-O'Rourke, Petra Prins, Carolyn Forster, Lynette Jensen, Joanna Figueroa, Lynne Edwards, Janet Bolton and Marsha McCloskey. With projects from Naive Applique to Patchwork Perspective, there is certain to be
an instant keepsake in here for anyone willing to give it a go. This book is a keeper and a giver ...a lovely present for that special quilting friend or even yourself.
