After completing a three year diploma course in Fashion design during the 60s, I worked in the rag trade until becoming a full time mum. I returned to work when the youngest of our three had started school, and have been happily employed as a learning support assistant in a special school ever since. I support the students in their art classes, and have also enjoyed persuing painting, pottery, jewellery making and sewing crafts at home. A few years ago I enrolled for a C&Gs foundation course in patchwork and quilting at our local adult education centre, and havent looked back since. I really enjoy colour and texture, and absolutely love my new embellishing machine. I seem to be moving more towards textile art, although I do still enjoy the more traditional methods of quilt making. Free machine quilting is also becoming a much preferred means of surface decoration.
