I have finally quilted my first block, this is a big thing for me as i have been debating quilting these blocks for about a year also and this is my forst quilt.

I have finally bitten the bullet and quilted my forst ever block - Wahooooo!

Wow Claire,

that is really great, i would love to beable to fmq. I think i am going to be picking your brains, as i want to fmq my birthday quilt when i have made it (bearing i mind i have only opened my squisheys today)

Thank you for your lovely comments ladies. I am pleased with my first bit of quilting just hope im as pleased when I finally quilt my other blocks.

The pinwheels, I quilted using the walking foot and trying to stitch in the ditch, a bit wobbly in places but I got better as I went along.

Karen, I'm very new to fmq and I still have a lot to learn but to get me going I made myselff a practice sandwich and then checked out some you tube videos which are very helpful. Here is a shot of one of my practice pieces, I have 3 of them!

Also if you like to doodle (I do) you can practice the movement by doodling. It will also give you an idea of how to fill the space. Hope that helps but I know there are more expert fmq's on the forum!!!

Claire it is a well known fact on here that I absolutely hate the Janome's.....long story..boring.

But you stick with it cos you doing great. yes
