1254 forum posts 105 photos | Like you, Claire Bear, I love the "Log Cabin" block - and I love this one of Karen's even more than most! It is a lovely mix of fabrics and colour. No sure what the Accuquilt reference is - can you explain? Love Margaret xx Edited By Winnie the B.O.L.B on 29/04/2012 21:35:32 |

1254 forum posts 105 photos | Thanks for the explanations Liz and Jan - I've heard about these machines - how easy - and accurate - are they to use? Love Margaret / Winnie xx |

827 forum posts 29 photos | I think they are quite easy to use but the machine is very expensive to buy and you have to buy different dies (shapes) separately. Wouldn't mind one but too many pennies for me to contemplate buying one. Di |

1254 forum posts 105 photos | Thanks for the reply, Di . Thought once of looking for a second hand one but didn't know what they were called so the search would have bene a bit difficult!!! Also, now thinking that, if they are a "relatively" new product, if someone is selling one already, then maybe they are not so wonderful after all! Maybe I'm maligning it wrongly! Love Margaret xx |

5698 forum posts 1170 photos 4 articles | Margaretbolb If you go [sorry no pun intended] on Facebook and LIKE their site, they often have a competition on a Friday to win one of the machines, be it the biggy or the baby Go machine. I have enetrerd or even entered many times but no luck so far. Also if you read a lot of blogs sometimes peeps have one to give away on their blog. I wish I had one to give away, it is lovely to feel you are letting someone win something so useful. Mind you I think for some things they are not a lot of good. Such as strips, and squares, I certainly wouldnt buy a die for those, that is what the rotary cutter and rulers are for surely. But fancy curvy shapes, well, now your talking. Facebook Margaret go hahaha give it a GO. A friend of mine won one and soon got fed up with it actually cos it took up so much room, so there is a nother factor to take into consideration. She told me she would have sent it to me if the postage wasn't so dear. She is in America you see. Oh well....I nearly had one. I just think I have managed all these years without one so I will carry on cutting as per.

1254 forum posts 105 photos | Hi Jan/Jam, Thanks for taking the time to give me all of that info. I'll certianly have a look at the places you suggest. One hting I am now wondering about is the space factor. I know I am lucky enough to have my sewing room but, believe it or not, it's full of - yes, that's right - fabric and fabric and fabric!!! As you say too, I have my trustly rotary cutter and rulers for the "shapes" I use most so maybe I should use any cash I have for something more useful to me? I will have to investigate - I'll let you know how it goes. Love Winnie the BOLB xx |
