Well, a little fun with my fabric crayons last evening. Decided not to try the white t-shirt due to the stretch factor for now. Placed a piece of wood carved with leaves that I got at the F. of Q. last year under my fabric and rubbed with the crayons similiar to brass rubbing...just changing colours as I moved the leaves up the fabric...will be using it as a book cover. More piccies to come. Tessa x

Love that crayon rubbing. I'm new here and I've been checking out all the fun techniques you've all been trying out. I want to have a go at boutis, too, so I was interested to see that technique. I did do some playing with my Shiva paintsticks a week or two ago and have posted a pic of one of the pieces. I rubbed over several op art texture plates turning them sometimes and then rubbed over a butterfly rubber stamp in the centre. I used several colours from light to dark during the rubbings. I've had those paintsticks for quite a while but didn't get around to trying them out until now.

Those two are great Tessa and "eclectic". I have done something similarish with my crayons Tessa. Hmm shall have to add Shiva paintsticks to my shopping list for UK in summer. Am enjoying playing with the fabric crayons for now though.

Thank you, Jan and Sylvia and thanks also for the welcome! I would also like to have a go at crayon tinting. This has been on my list for a few years now but it's just finding the time to fit everything in!

Hi Hazel,

just off to have a look at this here ''crayon tinting'', mind you I have completed the journal page for the crayon malarky for this month.

well blow me, that is more or less what I did, well what I got Rebecca to do for me, cos I was totally stuck on this one. She was watching The Lion King and I asked her to draw a picture for me, she did it in about 20 seconds I think, but hey, it was great for what I wanted..picture tomorrow.

Hi Hazel

It's more or less what I am doing too! Mine comes in the naive category, as I am not artistic. Although if I get the time I have an idea for something else.

Here you go girls, my Crayon Journal page, with many thanks to Rebecca [Grand-daughter ] for doing this for me. I just did a bit of stitching on the picture, framed it, done, sorted. Quickest one I have done so far....

Next..the Miniature journal....ARGHHHHHHHHHH
