......................YOU ARE AT THE RIGHT PLACE for 2012 Festival of Quilts

Hi all.....

With regards to next years Festival of Quilts. Marian T. and I have been on the phone with Ibis and Etap at Birmingham Airport and have obtained this information.

If you book now for next years show, rooms will cost £49 per night. I believe this reservation needs a credit card confirmation but you can cancel if necessary without any penalties. Breakfast is extra. Ibis has a hot cooked breakfast, Etap is continental.

Etap has said they are already getting busy for June next year and will book up quickly as the Olympics finish on the 12th of August and the quilt show starts on the 16th of August.

So if you have stayed at either of these hotels and plan on next years quilt show, you may want to consider booking now. If you have to cancel, that would be a shame, but at least you have a room if you are coming.

Marian.... any further information that you have would be appreciated.

Tessa

Hi Tessa & All

The brekkie at Etap was £3.75 but next door's Ibis charges £7.50 but this inlcudes choice of hot cooked brekkie's which ETAP doesn't. I eat toast, croissants & marmalade so ETAP is fine for me. The brekkie is all you can eat and you can take it back to your room too which is good as the eating area is very small and fills quickly. I was going for brekkie between 6.30am - 7am in order to get a seat which was fine as I wake up early.

The Ibis is more expensive and hopefully Irene (Baldock) will fill us in on the room size, content and brekkie's so people can make a more informed choice.

I've had my holiday approved now but it means I'll be leaving on Sunday morning again as in work Monday.....probably asleep in the corner with a smile on my face and dreaming of all the goodies I bought heehee!......................

OK so I've just reserved my room at Etap again on the phone. A problem that arose is that I had to secure with a card that had expiry date after the booking but heyho! both my cards expire -one in Jan and the other which I used last time, expires in July.......NO Problem it seems for ETAP - they have reserved my room with a view to me contacting them in January to give them a card number. I'm happy now I can relax and being that it is the Olympics next year, I will be paying the same price as this year. Look forward to meeting up with you guys again, soooooo much fun....COMING THROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Hi Marian,

I've just called and booked as well...my credit card expires as well, so it will just be a phone call to confirm.

Being Coeliac I need to take my own bread for toast, and Etap were quite willing to refrigerate anything that needed doing so. Even though I take my own bread I still was able to enjoy the fruit, juices, butter, preserves, cheeses, tea or coffee.... so that continental breakfast was plenty for me as well.

Thanks for adding the above information Marian. I'm sure it will help the others.
